During my years as an instructor and coach, I worked with children from low-income communities and children in the foster system. These experiences have been the ones that guided my teaching philosophy:

As a teacher candidate, I believe that every child needs a strong role model, someone in their life to look up to, someone who will create a fun and caring environment for them to thrive in. Since not every child comes from a good background, I believe that teachers are given the opportunity to create great experiences for these children to expand their knowledge, grow, and develop into amazing and happy individuals. I think watching a child thrive is an amazing experience and should be every teacher’s wish for their students. Often when people observe children that aren’t succeeding, they think that the child is choosing not to do well. As educators, we need to provide students with the tools they need to be successful because children will do well if they can.
