Throughout my entire life I have loved animals and never really felt right about consuming them as food but because of the way I was raised, I did. Many times throughout my life I thought about becoming a vegetarian but I never did. This was mostly because I am such a picky eater and I really don’t like to try new or different foods. However, a couple of months ago I decided to become a vegetarian. Since becoming a vegetarian, I have definitely found it difficult to transition from my old eating habits to the eating habits that would fit a vegetarian lifestyle (mostly because I am such a picky eater). I have also found it time consuming to find vegetarian recipes that I enjoy, and difficult to find reliable information about what food is best at providing proper protein intake. For my free inquiry project, I am going to be delving into my path of becoming a vegetarian by finding information about being a vegetarian, finding recipes, finding restaurants to eat at, and finding different kinds of food to eat. From this, I hope to find a way to become a healthy vegetarian – even if I am a picky eater.
